I really liked the look of the old Answer/Manitou MTB forks made back in the early 90's. I copy this look onto forks I make today.
Pic 1- I buy cheap vinyl peel & stick letters at art stores for about a buck a sheet. They come in a wide variety of fonts and sizes.
Pic 2- I shoot the legs of my forks in some contrasting color(s), in this case copper and silver, then peel and stick the letters onto the fork legs. I shoot another color over the legs, and then peel the vinyl letters off to reveal the colors underneath. A coat or two of clear is applied after I do any touch-up needed.
