Rupp Rear Turbine Wheel - 6"

#3
What kind of shape is the tire in? I may want to buy that from ya...
Haha...if you look closely, you'll notice that I had to use a saw to cut the tire. It was adhered to the rim. The front one is still in decent shape. I am actually replacing the tires, so I would definitely consider selling it.

As far as condition...Some cracks from age, but definitely usable. I'm no tire expert.

I have two Rupp Turbine wheels with the sprocket mounts. But the center looks different than yours. One is just the two wheel halves and the other is a complete wheel, brake and sprocket with tire and tube bearings and axle. Not that the tire is worth much but it is there. on the older one one of the mounts is stripped and would need a Helli-coil insert.

It's not worth nothing, thats for damn sure.. People need these things, and they aren't making any more, as far as I know...

I would be very interested in it.. My front tire has some wether checking from being 40 some years old too, but is fine to use..

The rear is a FAR different story.. 55 on rotted old tires is a good way to get killed.. :hang:

But I'm picky and want Rupp Trials original rubber for the bike..

Restore Kid : From the picture all I see is that it says Adran Trial is that what Rupp used ? I never bought tires from Rupp while I was a Rupp dealer a tire was just a tire.
So I take it that all you want is this tire ?? The front tire was also an Adran 14X6 but a different tread pattern.

Ohhhhh  I was just asuming it was the same tire as on the rear.. The turbine wheel..

I am like %78 sure Adrian Trail was never on a Rupp of any kind.. The ones on my Goat, and I think most of em from that period are a uhhh.. Like a Cheng Shin, or whatever it is.. a Made in Taiwan.. But specialty ordered with "Rupp Trials" raised lettering..

As far as I know thats pretty well what most of their stuff was.. Just buying whatever tires are available.. but pay a little extra to put your name on there all cool..

I need the Rupp Trials tire that you have... That style tire..

I can try to get the tire off in one piece...I might be rusted to the rim and I may have to saw it off like the last one. I'll let you know if I remove it intact.
Is it a "Rupp Trials" or the "Adrian Trial" that Steve posted? Rusted on I'm hoping Rupp trials... I would be very interested in that if you could save one in decent shape..

If it's the Adrian tire, I don't really have a use for.. Someone might (try to save it) but I don't need that one..

I'd love to have a Rupp Trials though..

dude dont cut tires off the rim :doah: thats probrobly how you broke it too  Unbolt the halves and work it off slowly with screwdrivers and penetrating oil. work your way around and around and around and itll come off real slow. I cant stand when people cut good tires off its so unnessesary!! use some patience son!

i'll definitely try to get it off that way, but the last rim broke bc of a different reason. also, the tire on that last rim was not in good condition....it was rotted out and cracked all over...which is why i was trying to get it off in the first place.
