Rupp scrambler/roadster question

It fits quite well and looks good to. I've seen a bunch of bikes built that way. I would recommend a different carb with a slant intake. the stock tank carb combo works but looks like crap with the slant and it might get in the way of mounting the roadsters stock tank. the roadster 2 frame has enough room that most 5hp-7hp motors including over head valves can be shoe horned in there. I've seen many different motors in them. everything from Tecumseh hm100s (Tecumseh 10hp flatheads) to predator 212's. (the 10hp kneaded some mods to the tank mounting to fit.)

Another problem is the oil level, it can't be checked properly with a Briggs. You would have to make sure it had the 20 ounces.
Tecumseh uses a longer dipstick on the slanted engines, where as the Briggs don't use a dipstick

Thank you all for the expert advise, I have some options now. The bike is rough and is basically a stripped roller so hopefully my buddy will be motivated to get it going again.
