Ruppman Washer

The serial number on the washers just means yours was built 4,995th. More than likely it was a 68. It would have 5'' Taco style wheels with a 72T sprocket and a 3.5hp Tec. It was a true chrome frame..that is what the "K" means.

I've heard 66 was the first year for the Washer frame and I've also heard 67 was the first year for the Washer frame and 68 was the last year. I have two Washers amongst many other Ruttman's. I'm no expert by any means but I think the wheels you need to be correct are like the picture on the top. The ones on the bottom were used from 69 up from what I've been told. You can see how the webbing is slightly different on the wheels in the bottom picture.

Thanks very much for your input! Looks like I have the right 5" wheels. Still need to find the proper sprocket and spacers. Again, very much appreciate everyone's knowledge and help. It's got plenty of age and patina, but I'm going to leave the frame as-is...took years to get this way ;-) rims.jpg
