Ruttman Spyder w/Tec Power Products H-82

I recently picked up this Ruttman Spyder that has a vintage Tecumseh Power Products H-82 kart motor on it.

I'll need to get a recoil for it. But that's about it. I have an air filter that's period correct.

What kind of fuel mixture is correct for this motor? 16:1...20:1...?

Can't wait to get this little guy fired up and running.

It's 16:1. 16:1 is one quart of gasoline to 2 oz of oil. It will run like shit if it's been sitting, and the Tilly membranes are dry and cracked. I wouldn't waste my time with getting it running without rebuilding the carb and setting the pop off, unless I was going to do a quick flip and tell a prospective buyer that "it runs with premix, but the carburetor will need rebuilt."

Any gasket or seal leak (crankcase, PTO, or magneto side) will cause it not to run, or to run very poorly by the way.

Very cool engine to find.
