Sears Roper Model Number?

So I acquired a Sears Roper with a model number 131.80711, according to info on a sears page this should be an SR with a 5 hp and single speed. this on has a 4hp with a 2 speed. anyone familiar with this model. bike looks to be all original.

your engine on that model should be a 143.607052 which is an HS40 and a 2 speed jackshaft

So its the correct set up for that model Number? do you know what they called the bike? its not an SR

Yes its correct, Technically they didn't have a name from what I have seen. Roper was the company that made the bike (not Bird during that time) and they actually made ALL the bikes that Sears sold during that time. I had the Chrome version of yours, which is and 80714, I could never find an actual name for it anywhere. The three digit number at the front is the manufacturer code for sears, "131" was Roper corporation, Bird was "803" "143" on the engine is Sears' code for Tecumseh made products.

looks like yours has a drum brake in the rear, mine has the scrub brake
