Smog pump supercharger

What size engine was this Justin guy working with?
Yours is a model 10, 4 horse, right? Isn't that like 165CC?
13 ci is close to 212cc.
3CID is a lot in one of these little engines. Your pump and setup on a 5 horse, model 13, might only make a couple of pounds.

First picture from eBay is the Porsche 912 smog pumps that are $700+ shipping.

Second picture is a Datsun 240-260z smog pump witch is a baby version of the 3 vane mg pump I’m using. 7E9A4BD7-0D28-496D-97E9-4E4B29B1EB10.png ADD79D39-FDBE-4DFF-A094-B723B74E0383.png

The 4hp runs better then my built 5hp’s it must be over boosting like the gauge says.

After a trouble free 5 mile trip my ears are bleeding this engine is extremely loud also.

For something I was copying from YouTube not only did this work but It blew away any expectations I had.
You can expect heat from the pressure. Your compressor creates heat during operation. Perhaps a downward facing exhaust with open fiberglass muffler would kill raspy exhaust. Aiming exhaust flow at ground will not affect power output at all but the exhaust pulses hitting surface dampens sound slightly. An oversized glass pack with 1.5 inch core would not diminish horsepower and would save your eardrums

I want to in the long run push this 4hp to the limit I am researching methanol and jetting now.

I am wondering about the
-camshaft
-coil
-flywheel

My idea is to use a 3hp coil drop bracket bolted to an slotted timing adjustment bracket. Arc’s flywheel raises the timing I want to use there flywheel with the stock timing.

I have some big tube to make an exhaust I have a bag of jets 100-160 among other things like a Clements cylinder head and other upgrade parts.

If I could start running methanol and making more power with the 4hp sort of safely I’ll have some practical experience with setting it all up better on a 5hp D62FE2AC-6BAB-4D0B-B49F-1E6F5427A9EE.png
