Stand up Scooter From Vintage Article

I made this scooter over 25 years ago from plans printed in a 1934 Popular Mechanics magazine. DSCN9674.JPG I used to ride it with my grandson standing on it in front of me. I took it out of the shed to show a neighbor kid and it wouldn't run after sitting a while. It has a 3hp Briggs engine. The carb and tank ere all gunked up and the check ball in the pickup tube was stuck. I took it apart and put the parts in my sonic cleaner. I had to remove the screen to free the check ball. I had a new screen from a weed whacker carb that I glued on with jB Kwik. DSCN9671.JPG DSCN9668.JPG DSCN9669.JPG

That is really cool. I am old I would like one 2 maybe 3 times longer, Nice work!
Yep, they're fun to ride. Just follow those plans loosely and modify to suit your needs and you can't go wrong. The scooter is not smart enough to know what engine or anything else you use, or whose standing on it, so the choices are unlimited.
