Tecumseh 2 cycle ID help please...all it has is a tag bolted to the crankcase.

Yeah that looks just like the 3 hp model 1585 I have. From a Toro Sno Hound blower.

Yeah, when I found a parts list of the engine on PartsTree, the Piston used in the 1577 is the same as the one used in the 1585. What's the RPMs of a two-stroke? About the same as a 4-stroke or higher?

Yep, two strokes instead of four. There are some really good videos explaining the difference of a two stroke/four stroke online. I used to explain the difference to my students. Just google it.

I think I have the same engine in my garage. It's waiting to be freshened up. I got it for free, but I haven't opened it up yet. Can't wait to tackle it.
