tell me what you think about this chain tension adjuster

I made this several years ago and it works so awesome I wanted to share it with you . you drill 2 holes in your motor plate and bolt it down so the center bolt lines up with the rear oil drain plug then loosen the engine mount bolts a little and turn the adjuster bolt until you have the tension you want then tighten the engine mount bolts and run down the lock nut on the adjuster. Now no amount of engine vibration or chain pull is going to allow the engine to slide backwards
.
the reason I ask what you think about it is I was thinking of making some of these for sale I'm not sure how much yet but they would be more attractive than this one

nice idea just like my karts have. Never crossed my mind to apply to the minibike. Your method looks great. Thanks for sharing.

I'll take one if you make it a bit longer. If you make it almost as long as the engine plate, I could hold it down with "C" clamps and remove the clamps after I adjust:smile: No holes:smile:

Good idea. We used something simular for large electric motors with belt drive pulleys to tighten the belts. Ours had a bolt on each side to square the the motor with the pulleys.

after I make a batch of this proven design I will attempt to make something that doesent require drilled holes

LOL, all you have to do is make then go from bolt to bolt on the engine plate where the engine mounts, that way no hole drilling. The slots should be long enough to work.
