The engine is close to 100cc. That saw carb came from a Clinton saw that was the same size, or within a couple of cc anyway. I ha e not started it with this carb yet, because I need to drill a pulse port in the block for the pump. The carb I got from you ran very well on this engine, but it' s a little bit small. The revs were limited. It should be great on a smaller smoker.

Cool. I'm looking forward to seeing it run! I'm not familiar with 2 stroke engines but hear they have a lot of bang with their buck. And I can't wait to see how it all plays out with the fancy torque arrangement and all :scooter:

Please share when you put in that port.

We may have to finally explore all of the forest around us. We are pretty remote.
There is a regional airport about a mile, through the woods and there is nothing but trees all around that airport. I'm getting pretty excited to ride it, too.

Dont get too close to the airport . You might end up on the terror watch list. Have fun be safe.

They do create another problem on the Chinese fork with no offset. The center pivot bolt prevents the handlebar from bolting down to the upper bracket. IMG_20240820_114015.jpg IMG_20240820_113448.jpg So, I plan to cut two of these and weld them to the upper and lower fork brackets. IMG_20240820_115459.jpg IMG_20240820_114906_burst_01.jpg That will move the big bolt away from center and allow the bars to bolt down flat.

I also ordered a couple of sprockets to connect the engine to the driver jackshaft.
I ordered a 15 tooth for the 7/8 engine PTO and a 17 tooth for the jackshaft. I have a small assortment for the 3/4 jackshaft, in case I need them. I think a 1.13:1 ratio will be fun for starters. If the driver engages at 2000 rpm, this will let the engine spin at 2260 at driver engagement.

So the little yolk between the clamps was hitting the fork bolt?

Thank you Robert. We are beginning to think about color, now. Will says red, I think yellow.
This fork mod will give us a switchable fork. By removing the handle bars, removing the center pivot bolt and flipping the fork, front to rear, we can change the trail angle from 4.5 to 2.5 inches. This will teach Will about stability vs agility on a two wheeled project.

Tacked a couple of steel bushings in the neck tube. Ugly, yes, but after some grinding, nobody will see it anyway. IMG_20240822_113723.jpg
This is the modified upper fork bracket.

Zero offset with a headless bolt in the hole.
I believe this position will yield 4.5 inches of trail, but I need to measure it again with the bushings in there.
IMG_20240822_113629.jpg This is at 2 inches of offset, and if I am not mistaken, that will subtract 2 inches from our trail number.
I need to get the lower bracket ground flat and paint them both. Then I can take it off the table and sweep the gosh darned floor.
