69' Cat 300X wheels. (restored) NOS DIH Carlisle Studded tires. The brochure pics show a universal type tire...but the majority of the 69' bikes ended up with these regardless of model.


 
Caper Cycle wheel next to Fox 6"

Here's a Caper Cycle wheel next to a Fox 6" steel wheel for comparison. The only difference I see in the rim half itself is the stamping and the lip on the Caper looks as is where the Fox looks like it got dusted off on a belt sander and gives a more finished look and makes it look thicker. The bolt holes all line up.

 
Hub difference

The diffference in front hubs is that the Caper has a kidney bean shaped locating raised area that the wheel half aligns with. Also, the Caper hub flange is thicker (triangle shaped piece. They appear to be the same width.

Also shown is the sprocket side. Notice the Fox one is wider. A person could use the Fox wheels on a Caper for a real close look, but I guess since there aren't Many Capers around it's not a problem..
