The driver closes and the belt rides high near the outer diameter, the driven
opens, and the belt rides lower nearer the center. Gear ratio changes as pulley or clutch diameters change. Pretty easy to visualize if you are looking at one.

Yeah too high on the driver. I wouldn't have to go so far with gearing if it wasn't so high.
