Thanks Richard for the pictures. I guess that I have mine going the right direction I just didn’t think it would work with the engine pushing instead of pulling.

The gear box used on the Sherpa reversed the rotation of the motor. It was a design that worked well.

The transmission that came with my Sherpa does indeed reverse the engine rotation making the drum side of the transmission pull the final drive chain the right direction. I just wasn’t sure I was working with a complete drive train.

I’m now working on assembling the rear of my Sherpa. Are the shocks supposed to go between the swing arm and the wheel or on the outside of the swing arm with axel bolt through the center. If there’s some good photos if this I would be much appreciated!! Thankyou!!!

Thanks Richard!! Well mine didn’t come with the shock mounting pins on the bottom of the rear swing arm. I guess I’ll have to fabricate some and weld them on. I’ll post some pictures of how mine came on my Sherpa. They sure looked right. . But it’s great to have you guys here for the correct info!!

It looks like the mounts on my swing arm must have broke off and someone improvised.

I’m wondering if anyone would have good pictures of a Sherpa gear change handle and Sherpa under the seat gas tank?

I’m posting a couple pictures of the Sherpa I’ve been working on. It’s obviously isn’t back to original or even close but it runs a drives great( still needs a brake cable). Thanks for all the help. You guys are awesome!!
