Twist grip turning.

#1
I am setting up a little Taco 44 for my grandson. The bike maybe a copy as I can find no number on it. The 7/8" twist grip is the correct size however it keeps rotating on the handlebar. I tried some duct tape under just the clamping portion of the grip but it still breaks loose. Seems like a simple problem but with the gripping portion needing to rotate I haven't come up with anything just yet. If I file the housing seams then I may inhibit the cable return. Looking for ideas.

Thanks, Fred

You might try using a piece of sheet metal to replace the duct tape. A plastic strip cut from a milk jug might work to if it doesn't mush out like the duct tape did.

Mariah is on the right track. I've used a small piece of plastic from a soda bottle as a shim before. Works great and it doesn't make a mess later on
