Am I seeing things or is the coil wire really pressed against the fuel line?

It looks like there is a tiny patch of some white colored substance between the fuel line and coil wire...possibly to act as an insulator...excellent engineering there...

What was the name of that old cartoon character that built those insanely weird contraptions that used bowling balls and mousetraps and long lines of interacting moving junk just to eventually flip on a light switch or something?

I think this is his go kart...
