Probably the best "save" in motorcycling history. Just out of the view of the camera, he throws his leg back on and back out on the pavement.

I remember seeing that on TV back in the day when it occurred. Fabulous. Two riders who would never let go of the bike were Randy Mamola and Ricky Carmichael.

Check out this vid of Keke Rosberg saving a spinout at the 1983 Long Beach F1 race. He crashed out later on.

My buddy flipped on his helmet cam last Sunday during an ISDE-style event in Oregon's Coast Range mountains. These races are appx 100 miles long. Most of the time you're riding on challenging trails and trying to maintain a specified average speed, usually 15-17 mph. There are checkpoints every 15-20 miles. If you arrive early or late to a checkpoint penalty points are assessed at a rate of 1 point /second. If you get a flat tire or break down you're not allowed any help to fix it, and the penalty clock is ticking the whole time. Riders are spread out and you normally don't see much traffic unless a really difficult section forms a bottleneck. Occasionally you'll come to a special test where you go as fast as you can for 3-5 miles, again earning 1 point/second. In the end, therider w/the fewest point wins. This is way harder than it sounds. The top finishers are very fit, highly skilled riders. The guy in the vid is 21years old. He won his class- Open Expert -and finished second overall in the race.

This is a nice video too. I especially like later on in the video when they are going through old barns, houses or buildings :)
