Vt-7 tire questions

My newly acquired Heald Super bronc has a a turf tire on the front with square edges. Is this how it is supposed to be? I received the build paper and the picture shows a turf tire. It is kinda hard to turn. It stands up with out using kick stand.

I also have a VT-7, and they did come originally with the 18x8.50-8 turf tire in the front, like you mentioned. Personally, I don't like the way they look on the bike. When restoring it, I used a tire with the same tread pattern as my VT-10 front tire, shown in this picture.

Super broncs arent the most nimble of bikes.

They are heavy, wide, and take some body input to steer. They almost dice themselves in a straight line.
