Well I went and got another Manco trike

Went and picked up another Manco trike, this one is all original and in good shape 1983-88ish? 305 base model. I got it from the original owners great grandson, traded a shotgun to it but did have to drive 12+ hrs to get it. I already have a correct 5 hp briggs flatty for it. Plan to keep it original for the most part but may add a disc brake set of forks, 6 pack rack, new stripes from blueline and gear it down a bit more to help the little 5 briggs. This one will be at trikefest this year, maybe do the hard tail ride with it.

An engine-less Manco 350 popped-up earlier this week on Marketplace in Fairmount, IN (home of James Dean) for $400. Thought about it, but that’s Honda ATC project money. :D

Yep I ran 6 hrs up and got that, traded the guy a 20 ga i had and never used. I also hit the grave of James dean while I was there. any honda atc project for $400, i'll pass on gladly, they have gotten stupid on price for the decent models, even in project condition. Anyone can throw a honda together, pretty much the easiest ones to restore, but nobody fixes these old manco's and other american trikes up much. They can be hopped up and tweaked to perform better too, even easier IMO. You can ask some of those guys on the 250r's what the back end of my Manco quester jr looks like, thats the only view they got lol

I’d argue the Hondas are objectively better machines, and that’s why they gather greater interest, but that’s neither here nor there I suppose, lol…:) One man’s “Ah, I’ll pass” is another man’s “$hit, get the truck!”. :D

Oh no doubt, but they also cost double and then some what a manco did back then. Plus, not many really Know about these trikes, but they did seem to sell quite a few of them. They turn up semi often on marketplace but rarely in well kept shape. This one looks to have been robbed of the engine within a few years of being new, its gonna clean up very nice. I have a 96 300 honda fourtrax and a 2022 honda monkey, no doubt Honda makes good stuff but when it comes to these trikes, I'm gonna keep it Manco, I gotta be different. lol
