What goes up must come down....

We all hear it around New Years Eve about shooting into the sky.... Here's your proof.

I was up at my place in Gladwin Mi this past weekend, and Saturday evening the locals were shooting guns everywhere around my area... Woke up Sunday morning, walking around having a coffee and what do I find? A darn near puncture in the hood of my truck!!!...Please be careful if you are shooting anywhere... I was standing in front of that truck having a beer with my neighbor that evening.. I think it happened soon after that....

It's in the body shop right now getting fixed..

I feel your pain. A few years ago on New Years eve we could hear the gun shots and then a bang. I thought maybe it hit the AC cover. I went out and looked around but didn't see anything. There was snow, so a few days later I'm clearing the snow and find the dent in my 350z. About the same area as your dent. Several snows and a couple of months later I'm in my driveway and find a spent .357 round. I gave it to the police. They suspected someone and said they would have ballistics run on it but I never heard anything back from them. Its not as deep of a dent but it chipped the paint off on mine.

Apparently you guys have never been squirrel hunting….
After a hunt we’d shoot 12 ga up in the air just for fun…guess us country boys have a different mentality for fun..

I guess you guys don’t know what dog burners are??? It’s a very short .22 round….made for scaring off dogs etc….pap had hundreds of them….barely break the skin at 50 yards….made night tag very fun..

I hear gunshots all the time up there around me.. but it got particularly bad that evening.. semi auto's, shotguns, and I know the guy across the road from me was shooting his 22- but at a target the oppositie way.
I have an idea where this came from and I'll be paying him a visit next week or the next time he is up there when I am..

Probably not a good idea to shoot up the place on a holiday weekend when there are so many folks around..

That was my concern also. I used to be a bodyman back when.. That is an aluminum hood and I was conviced it would need replaced but they have a tool for that apparently and said no issue to fix it..
That’s almost a shamethat’s there’s a tool for repairing gun shots…

I am a body man of 30 years and have owned my own shop for 20 of them. I’d like to see the underside of that dent after it’s done.

They apparently have have an Aluminum dent puller setup. The body shop manager had to confirm they had it on hand before he had me leave the truck with him. I guess they share it with the other dealer locations.. We do that where I work also for the expensive tools.

Got it back last night and they did a great job. Good paint match, good match to the factory peel, no mottling like silver/gray likes to do..
To the best I can tell, very little filler used..I did some tapping around on it. Wish I still had my mil thickness gauge..There is some access to the backside to get picks in there but I don't think they went that route as there is no evidence of it..They are known for good work and I've used them several times with no issues.
