Gusset could have been add. A lot of welding in that area

According to the old eBay ad, its a Vintage Fox, all original and very rare.
New ad says Speedway

You guys this is a Tecumseh motor! Need to get a chain guard for it. Any suggestions?

The engine in your picture is a small Briggs, not a Tecumseh. Same chain guard should fit both.
