what was a rupps orignal cost?

Just in general let's say 1968. Seems like rupps go for the most money and I was wondering the original cost compared to what people are paying for them now. What bikes also cost the most new.

I was told by a guy that used to be a dealer that a Roadster 2 sold for a little over $400.00. He used to drive to Mansfield and bring back 2 dozen at a time. He still has one in the box.

I have the original 1968 sales literature with prices written alongside many of the bikes.

TT500 - $289.95
XL500 - $264.50
XL350 - $244.50
C-350 - $199.95
C-250 - $179.95
C-220 Cub - $144.50

A little cheaper than what they sell for now...

In today's money:

TT500 - $1993.50
XL500 - $1818.52
XL350 - $1681.01
C-350 - $1374.72
C-250 - $1237.21
C-220 Cub - $993.48

I think that's about what the complete bikes sell for now. I've seen a few sell for more though

It's crazy how much the desirability and cost has increased since these were originally sold at dealers. The same can be said for muscle cars from that era.

I'm sure I'm not the only one here that has bought a single mini bike part that cost me more than the entire bike cost when brand new.:eek:ut:

Sure aren't...haha. I recently got 2 -1963 "Karting" magazines with a purchase and there's tons of ads, I don't wanna tear em up but if anyone needs an ad I can always get a good pic

I have all of the dealer prices and retail prices for almost all rupp products in my dealers manual, reslly cool information in there. In 1973 a roadster cost a customer $324, a hustler was $294.67, and a scrambler was 274.67
