I got this Campus for fixing another minibike a dude owned. Straighten forks, fix brake and the usual stuff. Then he comes back with another mini, a brand new DB 30 with 10 minutes time on it, and gave it to me to make another minibike run. He bought the DB new and was outraged that it was so slow. In any case you don't get these kind of deals every day. The pictured Campus has a rather nice 5 HP Briggs I/C which is totally wrong. From the above I'm guessing it came with a Tecumseh engine. The bike has been repainted but I'm fairly certain the original color was also red. Again, what would be a reasonable guess as to the year of manufacture?

Hello Salt, The tail light/license plate bracket welded to the frame beneath and to rear of the seat definitely places your campus in the 1966 to 1969 era. The motor most likely was a Tecumseh with a lighting coil. If the original motor did not have a lighting coil you would see a battery tray located beneath the seat near the rear of the frame. Fox did make a red campus model way back around 61 or 62. After that all the campus models were varying shades of blue. The other fox models like the sprite, doodlebug, etc. were all red. But yours if definitely a Campus and probably started life out painted blue. Ogy

Hello again Salt, Another surefire way to identify the 66 to 69 Fox Campus bikes is by the footpegs. The earlier ones had three rubber inserts in them and the cross section was pretty much rectangular. The later ones had three anti-slip grips punched in the metal and no rubber inserts. In addition these later foot pegs had a tapered cross section. Less metal means more profit per unit. I have attached pics of the two types of foot pegs along with a pic of the welded on tail light bracket typical on the 66 to 69 Fox Campus Bikes. Ogy

Thank you for the information; It'll go into my Campus folder.

Cool. A blue 66 to 69 model. I did a lot of scrapeing and figured that the bike was originally red and re-painted red....I was wrong. Better than 40 years old. It also has the later type foot pegs that have been modified slightly by welding little squares of 1/4" keystock on the surface. That is fixable.

hey guys...looking for my AC...I came across a fox minbike..not sure if it's a campus or what..maybe you guys can tell me by looking at the photo. Anyway...I picked it up for $75..has chrome tank, perfect wheels, original engine..that's stuck..but I can rebuild easy enough..and the seat is flawless.

Here's a pic:

you sure it's not a fox...I've seen the fox's on other sites...and they have the same chrome tank, same angled engine mount plate, same wheels, and the back of the seat says fox.
