Will this 3.5 side popper shroud & fly wheel fit a 70s HS50

Pinrepair website has lots of info about cloning Hs40s.
The short answer is yes, you can do it, but will need other Hs40 specific parts to do it.
You'll need a skinny flywheel and starter cup for the skinny shroud to fit.
You may need to install points/condenser, a lot depends on what year your Hs50 is.

I have cloned a couple myself, if you do a search there is lots of info here

Thats a great link, I've used it many times but didn't recall the hs35 info I should have checked it again. sounds like the shroud should fit my 75 hs50 but It says the flywheel wont fit the crank tapper (I'm assuming that means any year HS50) so I'd be looking for an aluminum hs40 flywheel to use the hs35 shroud.

You need a skinny flywheel to fit behind the skinny shroud. You might have to swap to an early taper crank for the skinny flywheel to fit.
