Windber Mini Bike Reunion 2017

My first year I brought a camper. Very comfortable. But I now have an enclosed trailer that I have a bed in. It allows me to bring as many bikes and trikes as I want and can sleep in very comfortably. A real mattress and room to stand and move around in. Lights and a fan. I highly recommend an enclosed trailer to anyone. Make it a camper and be comfortable. It is so nice to ride all day and then camp out there. Its very scenic and is by far the best vacations I have ever taken.

Rarely do I recall dreams........but last night I dreamed I pulled in to Windber....

some 480 something miles from here....had all my stuff loaded on the trailer too, tools, pop-up, generator, gas can, all that crap....but no mini bike's.....:doah:

Must be one of those subliminal message things, telling me to get it in gear, and get my stuff put together and in running order...

We were supposed to go to Taiwan this summer for a Navy reunion but with North Korea rattling swords,it has been cancelled by the Taiwanese government.
We were thinking of going to Windber for the meet this June.
There are many post for the 2017 meet but finding facts in one place is a challenge.
I have a few questions:
What are the city rules for your mini-bike?
Where to stay if not camping or motor home?
How much are the rooms and are the prices jacked up?
How far away from event?
Security on you mini's at night?
It's a 4,000 mile round trip and we would like to get the facts before we commit.
Thank you for info.

Hey Rob,

Hope this helps you.
1) Majority of the riding is done on the Mihalkos property. There is a police escorted ride into town followed by the Coal Miners Parade that the mini bikes are in. After the parade chat for a few then back to Jeffs property.
2) There are motels within 6 miles from the event. Prices range from $75.00 to $120.00 depending on room size and day of the week. If you want the names of the motels just let me know. PM me.
3) Not sure about the pricing going up for the Windber min bike reunion.
4) You are your own security for the most part. I am a NYer so i trust very few people! Lol! We do put our bikes in our trailer at night but no so much about theft as it is about the dampness in the a.m. on the bikes.
The Mihalkos run a Great Event, this will be our second year and have been patiently waiting since last year ended for this years event to start. Made alot of Awesome friends at Windber.

Hope you make it.

JUST REMEMBER-EXPECT IT WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT!
As far as "security" for your mini bikes. If you have a good relationship with any of the members going to windber that camp on site, leave your bike with them. There are a lot of people there that you could probably put your bikes with or a lot of trees to lock them to also if you are that concerned. I have been going for 6 years and don't have any issues.

Sent in our registration form today........!

It made me smile when I realized this will be the fifth Windber mini bike reunion we've attended...it truly has become a 'reunion'.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

And Rapidrob...if you do make the trip, which we hope you do, just find one of us OldMiniBikes members, or look me up, any of us, would be glad for you to park your bikes with ours overnight.

A bunch of us show up Wednesday evening and stay till Sunday, so you'd have coverage each night...
