I live out in the country. I bought part of what was a family farm. As the owner and his descendants, passed or moved away, they decided to sell one of the houses to a non-family member. That is my property, now. I am retired and I do some large garden/small farm stuff. My wife is a school teacher and we have a 9 year old, so I will always have a fishing buddy. Here are some of the tools I have acquired to make life easier out here.

I'm pretty much the same. Live out in the country, my closest neighbor is about half mile away. My grandfather built our house in 1950, my mom and dad moved in in 1988 and I moved out here in 2015. We also do a garden and can a few hundred jars a year. Right now if I go outside it's 360 degrees of corn, can't see anything else. I've got a couple mowers, but no other large equipment. Being out here is great though. Hopefully you're as happy as I am.

The farm across the road harvested his corn over the weekend. Now, there are wild turkeys all over the field. I can see probably 25-30 of them in the morning. That is when I energize the fence around my chicken zoo. Coyotes don't like hot wire.

If they are hungry enough to let me see them, their hunger problems are permanently solved. They stay inside the tree line and watch me. I don't see them but I know they are there.

I live out as well. I like having some breathing room. Can't live in a neighborhood. Don't like the idea of a busy body with too much time on their hands telling me what I can and can't do on my property. Especially if they aren't paying the mortgage. Also my hobbies just don't fit in well with a neighborhood. Was raised out of town and it'd kill me to live in one. I don't have any large machinery other than the riding mower. Maybe once I retire, which... is unfortunately a ways off for me.
