So I've hit a dead end looking for my first mini. I think I am going through a mid-life thing, and trying to relive my youth :eek:ut: (like many).

Looking for a Scat Bat. Prefer a roller. I have an engine, like I had. A lead on one would be appreciated also.

If you are in the N. California area (Tracy) and have one please chime in!! It might be my old one! I'd love just to see it!:scooter:

I believe the Scat Bat was something else with a different name. Bird maybe? Can't remember, but they have been talked about before.

I may have something here in Modesto.

From what I have read, a Scat Bat was a possible rebranded Bird. Something like a Fury (?). The difference was the Bat had front suspension. I remember mine having front springs. I know it was a Scat Bat. I remember that purple bat, riding the mini with zoomies, on the fork plate.

I don't think I have any pics of it. That thing was given away some 25 years ago. There might be a pic of it floating around my Dads house, but I wouldn't know where.

Yep, Bird Engineering just like I was thinking. What's the deal with those wheels? They look like Astros, only solid, and look like plastic.

Anyways, I have the Bird frame like that only mine doesn't have the springs in the forks. Shouldn't be too hard to add them.

Astro wheels are available new.

they are hub caps/covers for the plain ol steel wheels. the scat bats used them and I think I have seen them on the later golden pinto adds as well (same bike less the sprung front end)

That bike KK posted was on ebay and was a great expample of a complete bike, that guy was not willing to ship or that thing might have been here in FL! I really wanted that thing!

I have the same Scat-Bat frame as shown above in really poor condition. Wheel covers are some kind of lightweight aluminum or similar. I think the only one left on my bike is bent to hell. Small diameter tubing everywhere also.

I have a Scat-Bat...the wheel covers are thin, stamped aluminum...made by a company in Wahoo, Nebraska especially for Bird Engineering in nearby Fremont, Nebraska.

The wheel covers are made to fit over Bird's 6" steel wheel, and they're held in place by a jumbo snap ring that fits over the hub.

A complete set is only three covers, not four...there is no cover on the sprocket side of the rear wheel because the sprocket is welded onto the hub and completely covers the wheel.
