First Bonanza owned was built from spec by my Uncle Joe. No springs. Bigger tires. The weight from using a heavier gauge pipe necessitated a big block Tecumseh engine with torque converter. Engine and tank squeezed under the top frame rail. Added the jack shaft for the TC. Inaugural ride flew my Dad and I together up a steep unforgiving dirt hill without a hint of pain. It was a beast that after several years of trial and error while looking for the right power train I now had the best bike around. But it was short lived as the bike was stolen the very next morning from our garage never to be seen again. That was 1970. Bought my second Bonanza from Jake / Square Chopper in 2014. Having a blast.
