wow. i didn't know the rupp had a model with a flat plate. that was always my identifying characteristic. i have the slanted one. the predator engine in it is terrible and i need a motor with rear facing carb and exhaust really bad.
update on what the issue was. the spring that is wrapped around the thin rod running from the governor arm to the carb. it was somehow too short. i had to very time consumingly elongate the spring and i think i finally got the throttle lever on the carburetor correctly. its really hard to do...
You can disregard that last question the issue will be resolved when the seal is replaced. Would the seal from a Honda clone replace the bad one and a predator? I happen to have a parts motor laying around
It is in fact a hemi and I'm surprised it got started at all with how far the flywheel was away from the engine block. It starts just fine with the original flywheel. I'll never forget this mistake again and I'll be sure to pass this info onto anyone that I see doesn't know it period thank you...
does it pop in without serarating the crankcase? also, when i turn the newer torque converter part on the front tire side i can hear a possible air leak. is that a normal sound for a busted seal?
