    Any guesses?

If you look closely, you can even see the HM (Honda Motor) logo cast into the brake shoes.

I’m pretty sure that’s all just sculpture and it’ll never work, but heck, I could be wrong. At best, it’s a work-in-progress. I doubt the transmission is there to allow for gear selection; my guess is it’s just left in “Reverse” to account for the crankshaft rotating the wrong way with the...

Thank you!!! Here is the paint. Lots leftover from touching-up my son’s YZ125.

    Finished an ARCO!

Thank You! I’d considered putting a proper flathead Tec HS engine in it, but already had this one ready to go. I may yet swap it out for one though, as the clone motor is a bit over-powered for the application.

    Finished an ARCO!

I used my press and various pieces of wood to straighten the forks. Finessed minor variations by sticking the legs in my receiver hitch and tweaking as necessary. While I had it out, I pie-cut the handlebars, bent them forward to make rider space, then welded them in place. I repaired the...

    Finished an ARCO!

Not sure what model ARCO this is, but here’s the before shot. Note Greyhound engine, rolled up Eagles Jersey “seat” taped and stapled to a board, high-speed forks, and other design features... It seems they experimented a bit with engine positioning, as the engine slots were more like large...

    Just got a Victor Mini-Scrambler!

It uses a different seat design. This one has a sprung seat in a horizontal type layout. Also, the 4 mounting points are flat with the bolts going through vertically. The Honda would have horizontal tubes that pass through the frame, then two long bolts that insert into the seat base and...

    Just got a Victor Mini-Scrambler!

I would have a hard time turning that down! I can think of a way to mount it that hopefully wouldn’t look too Rube Goldberg…:D

    Just got a Victor Mini-Scrambler!

I thought about that, but they aren’t cheap. Not cheap enough to prevent me from having the original restored anyway… As it is, it’s wearing a $10 GPS seat on a bracket made from pieces I cut from the impeller off a vintage ROOF Groundskeeper yard vac/chipper. ROOF also donated a Tec HS40...

    Just got a Victor Mini-Scrambler!

Here is the current state. Runs and rides fine, new wheel and head race bearings, new front brake cable (old one frozen solid), new throttle, kill button, grips ,and brake levers (old ones damaged beyond repair), new tank rubber retaining parts (from Honda Z50), new fuel valve, new clutch and...

    Chain guard help! ARCO Colt

At the end of the day, I think that general design is more suited for go-karts.

    Chain guard help! ARCO Colt

I usually take those and use a set of duck-bill pliers to bend the trailing edge up a bit so the chain doesn’t rattle on it. Then you can grind the outer edge down so it all runs parallel to the side mounted to the engine. Looks like a Colt would have it painted black, so I bet by the time you...

    Anyone make Seat covers

I guess I should have been more specific, but was referring to the 1st gen Chinese DB30 by Baja (though I’ve seen them branded as Blitz, or other names) that takes the same long seat as the Coleman CT200U. I have moved and rewelded the seat mounting brackets to use those cheap shorter $10...

    Anyone make Seat covers

For a Doodlebug, you may as well just buy a new one on Amazon for $40 or thereabouts shipped. Covers are $21, but I find the seat bases tend to crack and the foam deteriorates with age.

    Coleman observations.

I tend to agree, though I still prefer a torque converter to the jackshaft that comes on them.
