I found a lot of info in the book by Jeffrie Rodengen, “ The legend of Briggs & Stratton”, chapter 8. Says they only made them 1943 to 1945, 300 to 500 units total. Glad I only paid $300 less the engine. It’s a keeper. Like to find another one?
