box new hs 40 IDELS fast.

i got a new boxed hs 40. it started 2nd pull. it idles way too fast . the throtle shaft wont stay closed.. i adjusted the govenor arm. i can close the throttle shaft with my finger . it is about 1/8-1/4 open.rpms about 2100?? . it engadges the clutch and wheel goes . it is all mounted and i want to ride it but i have to hold it back when it idels {idol idiel I-DELS} HELPi will post pics of the carb and position tomorrow. what can i do?the kids need to be safe.

Try moving the govenor spring had that problem with one of mine cant remember if I moved it up or down one hole but that fixed it

May need to do a quick static governor arm adjustment, its in the manual. The governor should pull back the throttle to an idle. Other than that the other suggestion is good, adjust the spring position on the gov. arm.

thanks. it is fine now. great for the kids wide open. but it is too slow for me.i must get another one for me.
