Comet Tav 2 Converter

Hi I have a Comet Tav 2 Torque converter and the drive clutch is stuck on pretty good. We tried heat and a few other things. Seems as if maby some rust may be inside on the shaft. Any ideas on how to remove or has anybody ran into this problem. I want to change my sprocket from a 40 chain to a 35 on the drive clutch. Thanks ahead of time!

Try holding a old axle bolt up against the shaft that the driven is stuck on. Hit it hard with a hammer, Sometimes the vibration will break it free.

P B Blaster...heat...tap...repeat..

This will get it loose if you follow the directions and let it do its thing. Its the only thing I use for stuck things. WD-40, PB Blaster and the like are just lube on tire beads in my shop.

Yup, Gibbs, then tap gently with a small ball pein hammer while rotating. Repeat every so often till loose.

If not Gibbs, then Kroil oil should be available to you at some nation-wide auto parts chains.
