diaphragm carb question?

I have a couple diaphragm carbs on 3.0 and 3.5 motors will they work on 4 or 5 hp motors?? I don't use the 3.5 and smaller motors but wouldn't mind using the carbs on a 4 or 5 hp slant applications if possible?thanks....

Yes all day. Some of the mtd bikes(hs40's) came with them on a slant engine mount and other bikes too....

I have never seen a diaphragm carb on anything larger than a 4 HP (HS-40) I do not think that the carb venturi is large enough (diameter) to provide enough air flow to get the maximum performance out of your H-50. Would it work? - Maybe. If you have one why not try it out on your H-50 and report back with the results so we can all learn something. Personally, I do not care much for the Tec diaphragm carbs (Can't seem to get them to run quite right) and always switch engines equipped with them over to float bowl carbs.

Can't find any direct information on the diaphragm carbs but the series 1 float carbs were designed for 2 to 7hp engines. I think it would be fine on an HS50.
