Gear ratio-Jackshaft

#1
Ok im buying a minibike frame....it has a jackshaft on it and i have a 41 chain clutch and want to save 30 bucks, so i was wondering if i mount the 41 clutch how does my gear on the jackshaft have to be?? The wheel has a 64 or a 72 on it...so can i run a 10 tooth(#41) to another 10 tooth(#41) across a jackshaft to a 12 tooth(#35) down to a 72? and still have torque???:grind:

is the the 12tt#35 smaller then the 10tt#41 sprocket diameter or about the same. most of the time when you are using a jackshaft is to gear it down or the chain won't aline with engine and rear sprocket. if the engine is small? for example 3-4hp? you can take advantage of the jackshaft setup and install a larger sprocket by replacing the 10tt#41 to a little larger sprocket. this can be a big help when using a small engine. really need to know your tire size and rear sprocket size?
