The "new" CC100X is pretty much the old 2nd generation Baja Doodle Bug resurrected. I think most people who've had a 2nd gen DB have hated the bars and the geniuses at Coleman didn't bother to change them. I have to wonder if someone at a warehouse in China contacted Coleman to see if they would want to buy a bunch of DBs that were leftover when Baja went out of business however many years ago.
As @DaddyJohn mentioned, you can cut the bars off (plug the tubes to keep water, dirt, etc. out), drill the upper triple clamp (plate) to mount 7/8" risers and use the 7/8" handlebar of your choice. The following links are for example only, you may find better deals with some searching. I wanted something on the wild side to use with MM suspension forks so I bought the linked Z-bars on eBay.
You said you don't want to replace the fork but I'm linking a thread on suspension forks anyway because it's a popular mod/upgrade. There are photos of various bikes with the MM fork swap, including a 2nd gen DB. Unfortunately, the $80 deal went away when MM went out of business but the forks are still available from other retailers at a higher price.
I thought is was odd that Coleman brought out this new/old model when they already had the CT100U which I like much better; I have two CT100Us, got the first one from Walmart for $299 with free shipping in early 2017, paid a bit more for the second one from Amazon when the CT100U was hard to find a few months ago.
