K & S engine upgrade.

Has anyone ever tried to put a 5.5 or 6.5 hp in one. There is limited engine space due to shocks. Original engine was 4.0 tecumseh. Any one know what would fit?

If you are thinking of a clone, it wont fit without modifications. The gas tank has to be sectioned so it can fit under the upper frame rails and the jackshaft mounts are also in the way. I was originally going to put a clone on mine until I found out it was a K&S and that there were pictures available to guide a restoration. You are probably better off rebuilding the original motor. If it is shot look for a replacement traditional tec engine.
