Yes, that is what the lighting coil is for, head & tail / brake lights. Not sure about wattage but I use 12V Westinghouse low beam bulb. Keep in mind these lighting coils increase voltage with RPM's so lights will be dim at idle.

3 amps @ 12volts is about 36 watts to work with. in the manual the approved High/low beam 12v headlight was a 4420 which is 30/30w along with the tail light filament on an 1157 bulb on one circuit comes out to about hat and the brake light being on the other circuit on its own so it can stay pretty bright and consistent even at low rpms.

that is what the optional 5 3/4" headlight and brake light assemblies that Powell, bonanza, and many others used in the AP4600 headlights and Peterson Tail lights.
