Prepping a new tillotson block

#1
Hello I want to know what to do to a new tillotson 212 block before installing everything like the crank , lifters , etc . I’ve heard about deglazing but haven’t done this before . I’ve flexed hone a block before with 320 grit and worked great ! I’ve used course hone before and ended up blowing white smoke , even with new rings .but with a 320 it was better . Hopefully this helps others aswell . Ty

No comment on what you should do to the bore. But De-Burr every corner on the thing. Some 320 or 400 grit sandpaper works good. Inner and outer corners where the side cover attaches, same for the lip on the side cover. Also where the lifters enter. Some don't, but I like to enlarge the oil return passage hole between the pushrods. Not regular sandpaper, but the black stuff, like wet and dry.
