Question for jimh.

#1
jimh, I have the same exact frame as the one you are building with the shocks and everything. Just wondering of the make and model of the frame for my own reference.

Thanks, Steveko

It's a Bird of some kind. Maybe a Sears/Bird. All the brochures I've seen had slightly different ones , but I've never been able to ID it for sure. But the brochures only show one years models. Mine was so sprung out of shape when I got it that I couldn't tell the original shape. It has extra mounts above the rear axle mount for the shocks and a cross brace below the rear of the engine plate with staggerd holes. I added 6" in front of the seat and on the front downtubes.

If they're not Birds, they would have to be Foremosts sold by Penneys. I think Bird made them too, or they copied Birds exactly. The rear axle mounts and the way the steering neck is gusseted off the frame tubes is how you can spot them. Here's a link to the Sears brochure and the Penneys.
