I got into a bad wreck this summer when the forks broke on my micro bike while cruising in the high 30s. Got pretty banged up sadly and after only about a week of recovery I got a phone call from a former customer I had thru Sears and he had a minibike that he wanted to sell. Ended up picking it up while still all bandaged up and brought it home. It's a very nice VT-3 that spent its entire life at the family's cabin up north. In the off season it would be put in the cabin which had heat to keep the pipes from bursting.
I had to rebuild the carburetor with parts from another tecumseh engine, rebuild the torque converters, and ended up swapping an original headlight back on it. Final result was a very nice original VT-3! Rides perfect, runs great, and I forgot how much these like to wheelie!
I did later learn the original engine had been blown up so they ordered a replacement from Heald later on.
