Caliper Return Spring question Fox

#1
With the return spring unhooked, the caliper is "relaxed" and the sprocket spins freely. The brake grabs but of course no return action. With the spring hooked, it pulls, putting slight tension on the caliper. The sprocket still spins but not as freely with slight pad contact. If a return spring was somehow incorporated in caliper there would be no issue. Of course I might be overthinking this.... thumbnail-3.jpg

I had the same problem with mine and I just had to keep messing with it until I found that happy medium. Also, sometimes the sprocket isn't quite true and that makes setting the brake a little difficult.

Thanks, I keep messing with it, thinking that relentless tinkering will help. The external return spring is affecting the "float" of the caliper in its bushing.
