5 hp crank in a 5.5 block?

i have a 5.5 ohv briggs that someone gave me, it was on a pest control truck for the sprayer , it has a gear reduction drive on it that i don't think will work to good, so i heard that a flat head crank would work , if so does any body know what year or model that will fit and what else i would have to do? ,or just get the right crank.:shrug:

I think you might be making a stroker with that crank.

yea i think it does give you a little more stroke .2?? with a long rod

to use the flathead crank in the ohv block you will need the stroker rod, piston, conversion timing gear, conversion oil seals, converion pto bearing

yeah a complete kit is around $350 and then you have to have the piston fitted....

damn , more than i want to put into it, it looks like i am going to have to get a stock crank, thanks guys
