Uncle NOS,

My old army base is now a Ghost Twon. It was an old asbestos mine the army took over to be closer to the border. The stuff was lying everywhere, kids started getting breathing problems and the new government asked that it be closed down.

I went back for a visit in 2002, place is still there, squash courts , pools everything really eerie. Not a signle sound could be heard theres nothing around for miles.

The old mine building used to be our vehicle repair shop

I guess Monday I should bring my Camera to work and take some pictures.
I have a real urban exploration for you.

After over 100 years we are closing up ( not because of lack of ore but rather because of politics and stupidity ) production.
Mill is the building at the bottom.
Its a time capsul of the most diabolical milling technology 1960 had to offer.
mill has been closed for years.
The real crown jewel of my picture tour will be the hoist room and some of the shops, the open pit and underground facilities that span more than a man's life ( Frood hoists apear to be in 1930s in my opinion, so old I am not sure ).

Been outside this evening trying to do some star gazing.
I am cold....
Optics were not too good tonight ( temperature changes too fast ).
Then came the clouds.

So I decided to listen to some Philip glass and drink some beer.
Enjoy....
