You can usually tell if it is for alky by comparing fuel openings/orifices to a known GAS carb.
The IDLE opening/orifice will be visible from the filter side of the carb.
It will be visibly larger if it is alky.
If you were to mount it and use gas, it wouldn't hurt the engine, but it would be way too rich and it would never run correctly.
Alky give you a bit more power, but it is not a good idea unless you are racing.
- it may be hard to find/buy
- you need to flush the engine with a gas/oil mixture after a race, as the alky tends to promote corrosion
- most people would use a castor based lubricant with alky and it will 'gum up' if not flushed
And no, you can't go back to gas.
