are tecumseh snow blower engines good??

it is blower dumping season. i see them free or $50.00 any thing special or good to look for? some small and some huge HP in new england.

Are you talking about the Tecumseh two stroke engines or the ones just like the Tecumseh 4 stroke ones on minibikes. If there the four stroke engines HSSK engines there the same as the HS motor just no air filter and different carbs.

The one I have has a 1" by 3.5" shaft and a small pully that runs backwards of the main shaft. It came off a 2002 Yardmachine Tech HSSK50

No reason not to pick them up if cheap, the 4 cycle motors would be the ones to get, skip the 2 cycle motors, unless you are adventurous, and want to mess with one.

A lot of the snow king engines have goofy size crank shafts, that's why you pick them up cheap. You have to watch ebay there are guys you try and only show the flywheel side of the engine and not the crank shaft side because it a step down shaft or 1 inch. But there worth it for the parts if bought cheap.
