Best Plans for Home Made Mini Bike

Hey guys I am new to this site and was wondering if I could get some suggestions for the best plans for a father son mini bike project. I live in Rural Alaska so getting supplies is very expensive, I am looking for a good set of plans to follow for the first project with my 7 year old son. I have all the tools needed for building a home made mini but don't have a lot of cash to be wasting with experimenting on the first project. After my son and I get our feet wet we would like to try making a custom bike. It looks like this site has lots of experienced builders, so what is the best set of plans to follow for that first project.

Just cut up some old bicycles or black pipe, and find a style you like, trace a picture of it. Use something like the wheel size to scale it up to actual size, and cut and weld :hack: :weld: If you take your time and think ahead you can build a frame from plans in your head.
