Best Tire for Snow

#1
Hi I'm new to riding Mimi Bikes and have a lot to learn from you seasoned riders. I bought a Coleman CT200 EX as my first ever Mini Bike because it fits in the back of my Chevy Astro van better that hassling with loading my 4 wheeler. Yesterday I took it out for the first time to check out the property in the snow and I noticed it likes to slide sideways on the hills. The bike came with Knobby tires but the face of the tires has a rounded design which I feel makes it want to slide more in snow. I see there is knobby tires out there for sale that have a more flat or straight across tread design and think these might be more stable in snow riding. But experience is the best teacher so what do I know. So I would like the opinion from you Seasoned Mini Bikers on tires for the snow. Of coarse I realize when the snow gets deep forget the ride.

Thanks second childhood

Go real easy on the throttle, that's about all you can do. Even with digging tires you will spin and slide if you put the power to them, that's part of the fun!

Any bike (motorcycle, minibike, bicycle) needs rounded profile tires to handle properly. Check your tire air pressure; should be 10 psi (per Coleman); if tires are over-inflated, that will make your contact patches smaller. For riding in the snow, you may be able to run even lower pressure, like in the 5-7 psi range, for larger contact patch. Just remember to air back up to 10 psi before riding on pavement (other than short distance at low speed).
