Christmas project...

Hey yall,

Piced this bike up off Craigslist for $100. No clue what brand it is, only stamps I've found say 'SHL'. I've already torn it down to restore and turn into a mini-chopper for my little girl, just like daddies, but with a 'My little Pony' scheme...she is a girl...

So, here's some bike porn, hope it is enough!

I can tell you it's a single cylinder, about 44mm with a 10mm pin, so Im guessing it's about 45-50cc's. Need a new cylinder and I'd like to get an electric start. Frame goes off to powder coater tommorow, so need to get that cylinder soon...

Brand is APC I think...made in China. Sold at Pep Boys and such. Not very familiar with these though.

you could do what we did,
depending on the frame size one we put a 5hp briggs into and the other one we put a 3.5 tec into.
...just a thought.:shrug:

I had one of these. Only for a week. I would highly suggest put extra guards on the exhaust if your little girl will be riding it. It took 4 weeks for the burn on my leg to fully heal. :doah:
Mine was a 3 or 4 speed. I would go with a different engine. Briggs or tec.

I want to keep the engine, I want the bike to look exactly like daddies, and she dont need more than a 49cc engine.

I think I can find the piston, but I need to figure out the model so I can look for an electric starter, maybe even a wiring diagram...

Yours was a 3 speed? This one doesn't have 'speeds', just a centri-clutch. Think it's still an APC?
