I know that the first digit, is the year of manufacture. But what decade?
1970/80/90? Thanks

They didn't revise the serial numbering system to have the plant/shift code (the letter at the end) until December of 1970 according to Tecumseh literature, so you can rule that out. It's most likely 1980 due to color, Model number cross referencing can verify the decade though.
